Welcome to the IPL's Teen Poetry Wiki!

If you're looking to write some poetry or just read some, you're in the right place. We have four great areas of exploration.

Each of the areas below provide a page that allows members to post their poems.

Before you submit your first poem or response, you need to be a member.
To become a member, visit our join this wiki form.

Keep your posts ANONYMOUS!
Use your screenname or 4 tildes, like so ~~~~
Do NOT post your/others' real name, e-mail address, snail mail address, etc. This information will be removed, and you will be suspended from using the wiki.

Your Notebook

Above all this is your place. A free registration gets you your own wiki page and discussion page.

To see your wiki page, just click your screenname in the upper right corner of your internet browser.

To see others' pages, click here: Special:Listusers
Or type in http://www4.ipl.org:8080/index.php/Special:Listusers into the address bar of your internet browser.

Links in blue have content.

Open Mic

Your internet coffee house- the stage is yours and we're all ears! Download your work at the Open Mic wiki and post responses to the work you enjoy or connect with. (Note: We have to edit out stereotyping, swearing, hate poems, etc., so if your poem/response contains these, you'll have to revise or expect not to see it on our site).

Exquisite Corpse

An unusual and fun game you can play with friends and Poetry page members alike. Check out the Exquisite Corpse page to get directions on how to play or else take a look at the Old Corpses to see what poems have been created in the past.

WordPlay

A place to find exciting, new experiments with language. We've listed some of our favorites here and have even set up a wiki where you can post your own. Each week there will be a new experiment from which teens can create their own original work. Teens can also respond to the work here or, if you're inspired by someone else's work, post your poetic response.

Poet of the Week

It's time for a birthday! Each week we'll celebrate a famous poet's birthday with a brief biography and a link to a poetry experiment in our WordPlay section. You'll also find links to sites which talk insightfully about each poet's work. This is a great way to learn more about these wonderful writers and construct useful, new interpretations into their work.

Recommendations and Inspirations

A place to share books, movies, authors, websites, or anything that has inspired or in some way helped your work.

TeenSpace Poetry Links

Sites outside the IPL that publish poetry online.
