- The Virtual Laboratory is a virtual engineering/science laboratory course that is part of the "What is Engineering?", an introduction to engineering problem solving course, at Johns Hopkins University. It offers online, through the use of JAVA, fully interactive experiments such as creating logic circuits, drilling for oil, robotic arm programming, analysis of diffusion processes, heat transfer, bridge design, and estimation of number of trees in a landscape from a Landsat image. More experiments are planned. The experiments are written in JAVA and are fully interactive. Some experiments also require an MPEG viewer. See the requirements on the first page of the site.
